Simone Burdon, Bianca Gillin, Melissa Horton, Kristyn Jones and Anna Mitchell all have a passion for creating. As ‘soloists’ they rarely have the opportunity to collaborate with other artists in day-to-day proceedings. The Sole Sisters Collective enables them to break free from the artistic restrictions imposed on them in their working lives, and allows them to work together to explore themes with total creative freedom.

Their current exhibition is inspired by the quote “All art is but an imitation of nature” - Seneca.

Following the success of their recent exhibition as part of the Penola Coonawarra Art Festival, the Sole Sisters will be displaying their work (plus some new pieces) at Mount Gambier's Studio One Art Gallery from 22nd August - 5th September 2008.

In addition to the artists' individual pieces, there are five collaborative artworks on display. Each artist was given one week to work on the piece before it was passed onto the next member of the group. This process proved to be both an inspiration and a cha llenge...come and see the results!
