Simone Kain launched her previous business, E-lift Media in 1999 at the age of 19, to provide clients with website development and graphic design services. This business was conducted successfully for 10 years as a sole trader before merging in 2009 with another agency to become Hello Friday Pty Ltd.
Simone has received a number of outstanding awards including the 2006 South Australian Young Achiever Award (Regional Initiative) and the 2004 and 2001 SA Great Regional Award (Youth). In 2007 she was awarded third place in the South Australian Rural Women’s Awards and in 2010 named Advantage SA's Regional Speaker of the Year for her voluntary work talking to students at regional schools about design and business. Simone has also had design work published in United States design journals and books which are distributed worldwide and has been shortlisted in the 2007 Desktop Magazine Create Awards in the Design – Creative section for a unique invitation design.
She has had work exhibited in various locations around the Limestone Coast as well as the New Land Gallery, Port Adelaide, South Australia.
Simone’s office is based in Penola, just 5kms from the famed Coonawarra wine region - which is a constant inspiration for her art, design and illustration work. She is inspired by artists such as Klimt, Del Kathryn Barton and Yilpi Marks for the way they use intricate patterns within their artwork.
Although Simone is no longer a 'sole trader', she relishes her time with the Sole Sisters, being constantly inspired by the girls' talents.

From a young age Bianca always had an interest in illustration and design, constantly drawing
caricatures of family members and always with a pencil in her hand. Luckily for her, her father
worked at a paper mill and brought home copious amounts of scrap paper almost daily for her use.
After high school she went on to study a Diploma in Multimedia in Adelaide (2002). On completion
of her studies, Bianca returned to the Limestone Coast region and began freelancing, allowing
her to work with a variety of people on very diverse projects. These included logo design, graphic
design, illustration and web design/development for large government organisations and small
businesses alike.
During this time, Bianca has been nominated for a few awards that give her that warm fuzzy feeling
inside. SA Great Award, South Australian Young Achiever of the Year, and most recently received a
finalist in the Australian Home Based Business Awards.
When the opportunity for a collective arose, Bianca jumped at the chance to work with like-minded
artists and get back in touch with the drawing skills that got put on the back-burner the past couple
of years.
Currently Bianca is enjoying operating her own business, extremely happy with the fact that design
is her full time job and looks forward to the opportunities available.

“Kind of sucks never having money... But kinda cool to choose a dream”. - Yoshitomo Nara
For as long as she can remember, Melissa has had an interest in the Arts. She completed a
multimedia traineeship with the South East Institute of TAFE in 1998, and after spending several
years working as a graphic designer and lecturing in Digital Media at TAFE, Melissa moved
to Sydney to pursue her passion for the moving image. Graduating from the Australian Film,
Television & Radio School in 2002 with a Graduate Diploma in Digital Media, Melissa then found
herself working as a freelance graphic designer, working on a number of print, film and television
pieces. In 2004 Melissa moved to Adelaide where she worked as Marketing & Promotions
Coordinator for the Media Resource Centre.
After a number of overseas adventures and four years of city living, Melissa was drawn back to Mt
Gambier. Her passion for graphic design led her to open her own business “A Little Birdie Design
Studio” where she specialises in unique, custom made invitations, announcements and stationery,
for events such as weddings, births and corporate functions.
Having worked in various mediums such as print, new media, film and television, Melissa has a
great interest in experimenting with and merging artforms. Her passion for travel has taken her
from Japan, to Europe, to Canada and in between, where she has been inspired by great masters
and street artists alike. Melissa is also definitely inspired and motivated by her love for nature and
conservation.
Her work has featured in several local and touring exhibitions and she was ‘artist of the month’ at
the New Land Gallery, Port Adelaide in September 2000.

Kristyn is a web designer based in the Mount Gambier area. Her first art project was creating a
mural for her primary school lunch shed in Grade 4.
Kristyn was introduced to the web design industry in 1999, when she discovered that her love for
both creative and technical processes could be put to good use. After completing her Certificate
II and III in Information Technology and Certificate IV in Multimedia at the Sydney Computer
Graphics College, she worked in the Sydney web design industry.
Kristyn returned home to the South East in 2004 and continued with her own business, Crank
Design. Her work ranges from website and multimedia design, brand identity, and the odd print
job. Kristyn has an interest in a wide range of arts and design - from photography and fine art to
mixed media and illustration.
When she’s not pushing pixels, she is spending time with her partner and three small children,
acquiring unnecessary curios at clearing sales and pursuing her obsession with
photography.

Anna’s keen interest in art and design can be traced back to her early years. Her mum, being
a nature lover and artist (and opening this exhibition!) surrounded her 3 children with beautiful
paintings, drawings, and copious amounts of art supplies and materials. There must be something
in the genes, as Anna has had a keen interest in art and design ever since.
With an added interest in computers and technology, it seemed a natural progression to combine
these two interests and study a bachelor of Visual Communication, Graphic Design, at the
University of South Australia in 2001 (with Honours). This course provided a solid grounding and
sparked Anna’s interest in different elements of both art and design including life drawing, screen
printing, photography and typography.
Anna set up Relish Design Studio in 2004. Her work has a healthy balance of creativity and flair
and has helped Relish win many significant local and interstate design projects and awards,
including her first international contract and Runners up in the Packaging section at the Desktop:
2006 Create Awards.
Anna relishes living in a regional area, which means nature is accessible from our back doorstep to
enjoy and inspire.
